LAW STUDENT CLOSING ARGUMENT COMPETITION |
|||||||||||||||||||||||
Law schools inadequately train future lawyers for advocacy on childrens damage issues. To heighten the awareness of damage consideration to injured and maimed children, in late 1997, the Foundation sponsored its first Law Student Closing Argument Competition. The Competition drew such passionate participation that it has become an annual event; of more than 100 students from law schools throughout Georgia who applied, 26 competed in 1997. Second and third-year law students are invited to participate. The closing arguments involve a real case involving injuries to a child. The jury is comprised of journalists, attorneys, and former clients of The Keenan Law Firm. |
